Tour of Switzerland - Land of forest, lakes and mountains

Off to SWITZERLAND,
To get absorbed in the aroma of the forest and farm land !
Visited the mighty Rhine falls,
To drench in the water of the Europe’s largest falls.
Climbed atop the mountains,
To bury into the snow heaps of the Titlis. Mountain.
Toured Lucerne, Zurich and neighbouring city,
Explored the nation’s authenticity !

Country known for the works of the Great Scientist Albert Einstein,
How could we miss to visit the house of this renowned Physicist!

Three days trip to the spectacular country,

The country of four languages – German, French, Italian, Romansh,
The country of breath-taking sights,
The country of innumerable trees,
lakes, villages and mountainous peaks,
The country of delicious flavored chocolates;

Left me astounded and realize,
Three days just not enough, to explore and get soaked,
In the stunning natural beauty it evoked !!

Below is a video capturing all the natural beauties - Rhine falls, Mount. Titlis, Timber house in Marthalen Village, Albert Einstein's residence in Zurich.
Fun Watching !

The Wal-Mart Way - Book Review

THE WAL-MART WAY - DON SODERQUIST I had the opportunity to read the book"THE WAL-MART WAY" when I was doing my post graduate Program in Management. This is one of the popular books among management students as the author talks about few innovative methods and techniques adopted by Wal-Mart, American Multinational Retail Corporation, to reduce the operation costs of the company, thereby providing the customers the products with low prices. "Every Day, Low Prices" was the tagline for a long time until recently when it was changed to "Save Money, Live Better" . The motto has always been to sell products at low prices. To make this happen the company adopted new practices. The book widely talks about these methods and also throws light on the work culture and attitude towards the employees. About the Author The author of this book Don Soderquist was the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and Senior Vice Chairman of Wal-Mart. He has work...

Italy tour - Rome, Florence, Venice - Experience and few tips

I recently went on a tour to Italy with my parents. We planned three main cities to visit – Rome, Florence and Venice. Enormous amount of time was spent in Google search to collect details on the tourist attractions and accommodation and the proximity of the tourist sites from the location of stay. The more the information in Google, the more the confusion in making decisions. After scratching our head for quite few days and after eliminating many possible options, we finally made a clear plan that was workable for us. But in this post, I am not going to talk about tourist attractions, as there is already so much material available on virtual platform to guide you. All thanks to the technology.  The purpose of this post is to share few of my observations and experience from this trip that might be helpful to the readers.  Rome ( 2 nights) Stay - Airbnb - B&B 128Roma - (Shared Apartment with common dining hall and kitchen) The flat is in the first...

Greeting Card - A Thing of the Past

Reliving the past - Memories It was my birthday.  Birthday Wishes were pouring in from my family and friends in WhatsApp and Facebook. I received animated E-greeting cards in my phone -  “Happy Birthday” texts moving from left to right, Cake images of different shapes popping from in between, balloons flying high in the phone and crackers bursting in my mobile screen with no damage to the phone what so ever…   Wooow, How fascinating … Technology has gone beyond our imagination. Everything is available with a click of our fingers. No more squeezing our brain, no more effort and time spent on purchasing attractive colourful cards and writing few words of wishes in different coloured pens in irregular fonts. No more spending money on materials to make original cards. No more... no more... It sounds so simple, right! But I ask myself. How much satisfaction this gives me... Just to select some card online in an app or from a website and forward to th...
