Comic Strip Centre, Brussels - Tintin, Smurf and many more

FUNNY, FICTITIOUS COMPANIONS..........😃😄

Tom & Jerry, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Popeye, Winnie the poo and Pink Panther are few of the very famous cartoon characters among kids. In fact, I would say even adults love to watch these cartoons.
I believe comics and cartoon movies amuse and entertain all of us, irrespective of our age. I still like to read comics. Even more, I love to draw these cartoons with all unique and funny faces.... The creativity has no bounds. All these funny characters and their creators have left me spellbound.

Few of Tinkle's characters like Suppandi and Shikari Shambu are still my favourites.  Suppandi's stupidity due to ignorance, Shikari Shambu's cowardly acts that luckily ends up being courageous and many more of tinkle's comic strips have all been hilarious.

Tom & Jerry, very famous among kids need no mention. The running & catching, Jerry's acts of wittiness towards Tom, and in return Tom's act of revenge on Jerry will leave us in tears out of laughter.
The very fact of writing about these cartoons brings smile to my face. That is the kind of impact they have left on us.
The cartoonists of these funny characters should truly be applauded for their creations.
TINTIN

Apart from the above characters, there is one another cartoon that is my favorite - #TINTIN.
Recently when I was reading about the "places to visit in Brussels", I discovered that there is a Comic Art museum in Brussels that has arts of Tintin along with other cartoons. The name TINTIN made me excited and curious. On further reading I found out that Tintin was created by a Belgian Cartoonist Georges Remi, also famous by name Herge.
Not many of us are familiar with this cartoon.
TINTIN is a young man with funny features and with few hairs raised from his head. He is an investigative journalist who solves complicated cases with the help of his companion - the DOG.
There are innumerable comics on "The Adventures of TINTIN".  I have read these comics as a kid and from that day I have been a fan.

The moment I knew of this place, I decided to make a visit to this colourful arts museum to get absorbed into the comical characters and funny figures.

I must say I was not disappointed. The museum was very attractive and I am sure kids would definitely love the place. Tintin, Smurf and Sheriff Woody (from Toy story), are few cartoons familiar to me. There were other cartoons as well you can get introduced to in the museum.
My son accompanied me to the museum. He enjoyed taking pictures with few cartoons in all kinds of funny poses. There are many activities as well that will keep us engaged.

The entry fee is nominal.
I would highly recommend this place to all cartoon lovers...
You can go to this link for further information about the place.

At the entrance there is a small shop to the left that sells comic books and miniature to big sculptures of all cartoons. If you are a cartoon person or if you are a toy collection person this is the right place.
Below are few pictures of the cartoons in museum.  This will give you a glimpse of the place. Do visit the place and get lost in the world of humor & fun with these fictional personalities & companions.
Don't we all need some time off from the real world ?!

Italy tour - Rome, Florence, Venice - Experience and few tips

I recently went on a tour to Italy with my parents. We planned three main cities to visit – Rome, Florence and Venice. Enormous amount of time was spent in Google search to collect details on the tourist attractions and accommodation and the proximity of the tourist sites from the location of stay. The more the information in Google, the more the confusion in making decisions. After scratching our head for quite few days and after eliminating many possible options, we finally made a clear plan that was workable for us. But in this post, I am not going to talk about tourist attractions, as there is already so much material available on virtual platform to guide you. All thanks to the technology.  The purpose of this post is to share few of my observations and experience from this trip that might be helpful to the readers.  Rome ( 2 nights) Stay - Airbnb - B&B 128Roma - (Shared Apartment with common dining hall and kitchen) The flat is in the first...

The Wal-Mart Way - Book Review

THE WAL-MART WAY - DON SODERQUIST I had the opportunity to read the book"THE WAL-MART WAY" when I was doing my post graduate Program in Management. This is one of the popular books among management students as the author talks about few innovative methods and techniques adopted by Wal-Mart, American Multinational Retail Corporation, to reduce the operation costs of the company, thereby providing the customers the products with low prices. "Every Day, Low Prices" was the tagline for a long time until recently when it was changed to "Save Money, Live Better" . The motto has always been to sell products at low prices. To make this happen the company adopted new practices. The book widely talks about these methods and also throws light on the work culture and attitude towards the employees. About the Author The author of this book Don Soderquist was the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and Senior Vice Chairman of Wal-Mart. He has work...
