Greeting Card - A Thing of the Past

Reliving the past - Memories It was my birthday.  Birthday Wishes were pouring in from my family and friends in WhatsApp and Facebook. I received animated E-greeting cards in my phone -  “Happy Birthday” texts moving from left to right, Cake images of different shapes popping from in between, balloons flying high in the phone and crackers bursting in my mobile screen with no damage to the phone what so ever…   Wooow, How fascinating … Technology has gone beyond our imagination. Everything is available with a click of our fingers. No more squeezing our brain, no more effort and time spent on purchasing attractive colourful cards and writing few words of wishes in different coloured pens in irregular fonts. No more spending money on materials to make original cards. No more... no more... It sounds so simple, right! But I ask myself. How much satisfaction this gives me... Just to select some card online in an app or from a website and forward to th...

Comic Strip Centre, Brussels - Tintin, Smurf and many more

FUNNY, FICTITIOUS COMPANIONS.......... 😃😄 Tom & Jerry , Mickey Mouse , Donald Duck , Popeye , Winnie the poo and Pink Panther are few of the very famous cartoon characters among kids. In fact, I would say even adults love to watch these cartoons. I believe comics and cartoon movies amuse and entertain all of us, irrespective of our age. I still like to read comics. Even more, I love to draw these cartoons with all unique and funny faces.... The creativity has no bounds. All these funny characters and their creators have left me spellbound.  Few of Tinkle's characters like Suppandi and Shikari Shambu are still my favourites.  Suppandi's stupidity due to ignorance, Shikari Shambu's cowardly acts that luckily ends up being courageous and many more of tinkle's comic strips have all been hilarious.  Tom & Jerry , very famous among kids need no mention. The running & catching, Jerry's acts of wittiness towards Tom, and in return Tom's act o...

Italy tour - Rome, Florence, Venice - Experience and few tips

I recently went on a tour to Italy with my parents. We planned three main cities to visit – Rome, Florence and Venice. Enormous amount of time was spent in Google search to collect details on the tourist attractions and accommodation and the proximity of the tourist sites from the location of stay. The more the information in Google, the more the confusion in making decisions. After scratching our head for quite few days and after eliminating many possible options, we finally made a clear plan that was workable for us. But in this post, I am not going to talk about tourist attractions, as there is already so much material available on virtual platform to guide you. All thanks to the technology.  The purpose of this post is to share few of my observations and experience from this trip that might be helpful to the readers.  Rome ( 2 nights) Stay - Airbnb - B&B 128Roma - (Shared Apartment with common dining hall and kitchen) The flat is in the first...

Parenting in TENNIS - My experiences and learnings

PATIENCE   -The key Mantra It was 2016. I was prepping up for a tennis match – Not to play, but to watch. Yes, I must mentally prepare myself to watch the match, as it was my son playing. It was a national level tennis tournament for U-14 years category. I sat on a wooden bench close to the court. The boys were warming up inside the court. Few others were gathered to watch the same match. My eyes were fixed on the court, anxiously waiting for the match to commence. The referee entered the court and positioned himself at the net at the centre of the court and tossed a coin. The coin fell flat on the ground. It was a head. The referee had a word with the winner of the toss to decide on who gets to s erve first. My son’s opponent chose to serve. All was set. The players moved apart, sipped few drops of water from their bottles and ran to their positions on the respective sides of the court, and the MATCH BEGAN. I got up from my bench and started to wander as the m...
